Itinerary

Day 1:

Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Kelaat Mgouna / Boumalne Dades Begin your 3-day Merzouga tour from Marrakech with pickup from your hotel or riad. Drive through the High Atlas Mountains and enjoy the scenic landscapes, traditional villages, and mountain roads. Along the way, visit the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its historic architecture and film locations. Continue toward Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert, before driving through the Valley of Roses to Kelaat Mgouna or Boumalne Dades. Overnight at a hotel or guesthouse. Driving time: 6 to 7 hours

Day 2:

Boumalne Dades – Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Desert Camp After breakfast, continue your journey toward the Todra Gorges, one of the most impressive natural canyons in southern Morocco. Take time to walk between the high cliffs and enjoy the dramatic desert landscapes. In the afternoon, drive toward Merzouga, located on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, ride camels across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes and enjoy the sunset over the sand. Sandboarding may be available depending on conditions. Spend the night in a traditional Berber desert camp with dinner under the stars. Driving time: 4 to 5 hours

Day 3:

Merzouga – Sahara Sunrise – Return to Marrakech Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Sahara dunes, one of the most memorable moments of the tour. After the sunrise, ride your camel back to the village and enjoy breakfast. Then begin the return journey to Marrakech, passing through desert towns, valleys, and the High Atlas Mountains. Arrival in Marrakech is usually in the evening, with drop-off at your hotel or riad. Driving time: 8 to 9 hours
